In late summer and fall, hummingbirds need to begin building up their strength so they can migrate to Mexico and South America for the winter. California Fuchsia produces its brilliant red, tube-shaped flowers just in time for them to drink all the nectar they need.

California Fuchsia is a native plant. It doesn’t need a lot of water, so it can live through hot, dry summers. Its leaves are silver-green.
