You might think that Coyotes are bad for birds like shorebirds and ducks. But it isn’t true. Most birds are eaten by small mammals like cats and skunks and raccoons. Those animals also raid the nests and eat the eggs and chicks. But the Coyote eats those small mammals. That controls their population, so more birds survive.

Coyotes are very smart and adaptable. Along with those animals, they will also eat fruit, insects, fish and small rodents.
