Chickadees are like acrobats. They hang upside down or sideways to eat insects and grubs among small branches of trees. Usually you can find them feeding in small flocks with other species of birds. Scientists think that they do this because it is safer to be in a group where there are many eyes and ears to detect predators, and it helps to have several birds together to find available food. |
