Bushtits are tiny gray birds that travel in flocks. They twitter excitedly to each other as they flit around in bushes, eating insects.

This is a fun bird to watch. It looks like a round fuzzy ball. First it hangs sideways, then upside down, using its extra-long tail for balance.

Bushtits weave a nest that looks like a long, hanging sock. It seems too big for such a tiny bird. But it has to hold as many as 13 baby bushtits.
